Karan Oberoi Rape Case: Police Nabs 4 People Who Attacked The Complainant
Mumbai Police has nabbed 4 people for attacking the complainant of Karan Oberoi’s rape case with a knife while she was out for a morning walk on May 25. However, the police states that, “so far there is no evidence that links the rape case with the attack on the astrologer”
On May 25, Karan Oberoi’s rape case saw a new twist when the rape complainant in Karan Oberoi’s rape case was attacked by 2 bikers while she was jogging at Lokhandwala back road, Andheri (West). The complainant, who’s an astrologer by profession, had then headed to Oshiwara Police station where she lodged an FIR against the bikers. Reportedly, the two people, who arrived on a bike, slashed her right arm.
Now, the
latest reports suggest that Police has now nabbed four people for attacking the
complainant with a knife while she was out for a morning walk. But police
indicates that there aren’t enough evidences that prove that the attack is linked
to Karan Oberoi’s rape case.
A police
officer told Mid-day, “The attackers were nabbed after a thorough
investigation. So far there is no evidence that links the rape case with the
attack on the astrologer. We are probing the matter to ascertain the facts and
find out who planned the attack. After checking a number of CCTV footages, we
traced the bike used in the incident to Mira Road and then arrested its owner
Zeeshan Ahmed, 23."
Tabloid’s
report further states, “Zeeshan's interrogation led the cops to his 21-year-old
friend Arafat Ahmed, who was riding the bike. Following this, the pillion rider
Jitin Santosh, 21, was nabbed from Santacuruz. Later, another accused,
22-year-old Altamash Ansari, was arrested for his involvement in the conspiracy.
The officer
further told the Mid-day, "We are trying to find out who planned and
executed the attack. More arrests in the matter likely.”
